بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Previously, I only make my new year resolutions in my head and they completely gone in few weeks time after new year eve. This year, I try to make something different in order for them to be eternalise in my head. So, I decided to paint them up. Here is the result:
I am quite happy for the result as this is my own first ‘art experiment’ which did not came from tutorial nor class like my previous drawing. I am completely aware that this amateurish drawing need more improvement but I think all artist should enjoyed things that they had drawn and yet, strive for more improvement.
I have already wrote my own major resolutions for this year, but I think more are needed for better me. Here are the rest:
1# Be a better servant to the One
I could say that this is actually my daily resolutions. We do not have wait for new years to aim of becoming good servant of the Lord of the One but in fact, it is need to be done on daily basis (and even hourly basis!!). To be His servant is complete struggle and smalls steps are needed to achieve big major improvement. For this year, I planned to finish my hafazan, be consistent in mutabaah amal, strive for purify my heart from worldly attachment, distraction and greediness etc
2# Take good care of health
I think it is easier for me to comply for good health regime whenever I planned to lose up some weight. However, like the saying of Prophet Muhammad saw: each man will have what he intended, I do not want the final outcome is designed only to achieve such desirable weight while lacking the spiritual component of such activity. I want it to be a form a worship and hence it demand for consistency. For this time being, I plan to exercise 3 times per week and control my own food intake
3# Think BIG!
This is really broad but I believe that in order to achieve something BIG, we need to think BIG! I always found up that some minor problems always distract me from focusing things that demand more focus. Don’t let the our mind linger on small problems but try to focus on something BIG.
4# Love others
I rarely found the compassion needed in order to love others haha. I think this is worth to work on this year
Abu Hurayra that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, “By the One in whose hand my soul is, you will not enter the Garden until you submit. You will not submit until you love one another. Extend the greeting to one another and you will love one another. Beware of hatred, for it is the razor. I do not tell you that it shaves the hair, but it shaves away the deen.”
5# Take responsibility
It does not mean that I need to find out new responsibility but strive to keep one. As a human, we will entitled for responsibilities be it as a student, daie, daughter and sisters. I really want to do my best to keep up my responsibilities in check.
In the drawing, there are words written on flowers. These are the blessing that need to be remembered. It is good to have goals but never be too caught up of achieving those goals while forgetting the blessings that have been given to us in the present. Be thankful for what we have is indeed a secret to become happy better servant.
In the nutshell, pray for better happier me for this coming year. *smile*

Beautiful piece and lovely resolutions. I decided to keep my resolution simple, and something that I won’t forget about doing: I’m going to *try* and donate blood this year. I say *try* as James is thinking that I won’t have high enough iron levels for them to even take it…but I am definitely walking through that front door and going to see if they will!
Thank you for your nice comment. Resolutions should stay simple, but I decided to make it more like reminders than some small chunks of achievable aims. It is nice to hear that you make blood donation as your resolution. I think that is a very kind act to contribute to society.
